CommentsHi Russell,
Here is a satisfied customer comment for your website which is more complete than the actual one. Best regards!
Yvan LeBlond
My name is Yvan LeBlond and I am from New Brunswick, Canada. I purchased a used Yamaha C5 grand piano from the Piano Outlet and it looks and sounds like a brand new instrument! When I called Russell the first time, he knew he had the right piano for me right away. He sent me some pictures as well as a video on Youtube, showing the quality and the versatility of the piano’s sound. I am very pleased and impressed by the professional advice and service that I received from the Piano Outlet. What an effective and modern way of purchasing a piano from such a distance! The process of importing the instrument to Canada also has been kept simple thanks to Russell’s experience. I am very pleased by the quality of my piano’s touch and sound, which is very important when practicing advanced classical repertoire. I strongly recommend the Piano Outlet as a place of choice. Thank you, Russell, for everything! leblond_yvan@hotmail.com.

CommentsHi Russell,
I just want to thank you so much for the wonderful 1998 Kawai RX1, it's just as you described it. I received it end of November after many anxious moments since I was apprehensive about buying a piano on the internet sight unseen. Your email/phone communication was great to relieve some of my stress. Gary from Express Piano also did a great job delivering the piano, it was fast, efficient and he even helped me put the Artist Bench together. I've been playing the piano every day since delivery. I just had the Dampp Chaser installed yesterday, and I will have the piano tuned in the next couple of weeks.
I did have an appraisal done by a RPT who installed the Dampp Chaser for me and she appraised it 10% above what I paid. Here are some of the quotes from the appraisal; 'This piano has a beautiful ebony polish finish case, and was manufactured in 1998. The piano is in overall very good condition. The soundboard has no cracks or splits and there is measurable crown along the entire board. The bridges are good and the tuning pin block is in good condition, it holds its tunings well. The action is light and fast meaning that Kawai made this one with very good geometry. The finish is in good condition. The piano is in almost new condition.'
I am so happy with this piano. If there's anyone that's fearful of buying from Russell (Piano Outlet), don't be, because all the communications and photos that he sent me were all true and accurate. The similar Kawai RX1 in the San Franciso area would've cost me 30%-35% more so the price is excellent from Russell.
Thanks once again, Russell. I would definitely recommend you to all my friends and family.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
Rovina

CommentsTo Mr. Russel Housen, at the Piano Factory
It has been about five weeks since our piano arrived. The Yamaha U30A upright that we purchased from Russel was exactly how he described it. We did hire a certified Pennsylvania based piano Technician/Tuner to inspect it. The Technician noted that this piano was in excellent shape and this piano was an excellent deal.
We are still waiting to have the piano tuned but the technician said it was not far off, even after delivery from Florida to PA. The touch and action is fabulous as Russel told me. My two children and myself love to play it. This piano has brought us closer as a family just as I hoped.
I can highly recommend purchasing a piano from Russell and the Piano Outlet. The service, quality, and (of course) price are unbeatable Barr nun.

CommentsIt has been nearly four weeks since the piano arrived. The Yamaha C3 that I purchased from Russell was exactly how he described it. I did hire a Miami-based piano technician to inspect it, though this was unnecessary as it turned out. The technician gave the piano full marks. I also contacted some of the customers on this list, all of whom gave Russel strong recommendations.
On arrival, I waited three weeks to have the piano tuned and the hammers voiced by my technician in Minneapolis. It played wonderfully before but its really quite beautiful now that its been voiced. The tone is warm and clear. The touch is fabulous. As Russel promised, the action on this C3 is very good. The children love to play it and for my ten-year old daughter (level six in Suzuki) the C3 has opened up a new world of expression. She positively beams when she plays. If you are looking for a piano, I can highly recommend purchasing one from Russel and the Piano Outlet. The service, quality, and (of course) price are unbeatable
Warmest,
Chris

CommentsHi Russell,
I was waiting for a reason, because the story had to be right. But I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to get this testimonial to you. I am also enclosing photos.
Here it is:
Russell found the perfect piano for me--a rock-n-roll musician’s piano--the best-sounding acoustic upright Kawai made in the 1990s: a 52-inch XO-8. The piano’s sound is exquisite and substantive, which is what I needed. Russell shipped it to me from Florida to California, and it arrived in flawless condition. As a songwriter, purchasing this piano was a big step, and I was grateful to Russell for taking such good care of me during the entire process.
Actually, ever since Russell went into the piano business I knew I’d be buying a piano from him one day. I’ve known Russell since 1981, when we worked together in a dazzling show-rock band called “Little Rock,” based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Russell used to schlep around a 300-pound Yamaha electric grand, just to keep in his hotel room for practicing. Even then everyone in the band knew he was obsessed with pianos and piano playing. But we couldn’t really argue with Russell about the added poundage on our tour, because one of the equipment vans was his. Ever hear Russell play? He’s an amazing musician.
Though I have a rack of synthesizers, I had forgotten what exquisite freedom it was to just sit down at a piano keyboard that doesn’t need to be set up, hooked up, or turned on. And there’s nothing that compares to being leavened by the rich, resonate sound of a good acoustic piano.
A few months after my piano arrived in California in 2008, something extraordinary happened. Since the mid-90s I had been doing more “writing” writing--screenplays, stories and such--and it was about two years since I had actually written a song.
I was knee-deep in working on my first novel. I guess you could say I was a little obsessed about it. But the Powers-That-Be set me free one day when the electricity went off in our house, and there was no way I could sit at my computer writing on my book. So I came out of my upstairs office, descended the steps to the dining room (which happens to be the music room), and sat down at the Kawai piano. Within an hour, I had written the first blues song of my career. I don’t know what happened; it just poured out of me. All I can say is Russell’s piano became the medium for this delightfully auspicious song, entitled: “I’m Not Gonna Give It To You Tonight.”
Russell, here's a link to the song. (It's the top link of my song page.) I'm hoping to get it to Bonnie Raitt. She could nail it like I never could. http://www.wildcoyotes.com/music.html
Lots of love,
Tysa

CommentsRussell - A note to express my gratitude. You are deserving of the strongest referrals. For customers considering a piano purchase - stop your search. Please accept this note as our heartfelt thanks for providing our family with not only a beautiful quality 1995 Yamaha C3 PianoDisc piano (with the very cool dual casters and cups) that is just what we were looking for at a reasonable price, but also for living up to your word and reputation. It is unusual to find someone like you with your creative talents and business accumen in one package. Like some of your other customers, we were concerned about purchasing an expensive piano over the Internet sight unseen, however, the prior testimonials convinced us your company would live up to its outstanding reputation. You are the real deal and your time in the industry speaks for itself. Please feel free to use us as a reference and provide my e-mail should someone like to verify our satisfaction with our purchase with Piano Outlet.
Best wishes,

CommentsHi Russell,
It's been a while since we struck our deal over the Yamaha S4. I'm sending my regards and my gratitude. The piano is simply phenomonal. I've learned to play a little better and I'm just in awe of the quality and outright beauty of the sounds the instrument makes.
Im learning alot about tone production and having an instrument with the S4's capabilities makes the lessons easy and very meaningful.
My technician loves to tune it...he gets his chance to play it when he's done!

=0 A
Seguramente en EEUU es muy normal de estas transacciones, pero lamentablemente en nuestro pais, no !!!!!!!!
Provablemente haya qye afinarlo.........algún consejo o recomendación para cuando lo ensamble ???????
Espero tus comentarios.

CommentsRussell, happy holidays and new year! You have made our house more
warm with the great piano that we got from you. My experience with you
and Piano Outlet is great and I would highly recommend everyone to work
with Russell on their next piano purchase. Here is my experience for
those that are considering. I have been searching for a reasonbale
price good piano and my budget was around $15K. I would like to get a
piano with a player system as I don't know to play the piano that well
and we have 2 young kids that we are planning to put through some
lessons.
My piano search started when I went to a piano sale at the University of
Washington and it was just a scam because the Yamaha piano
representative wanted me to get the baby grand that he had left over. I
almost got one but after I went home and read the pianoworld forum,
everyone was recommending to get a 6'0 or better or get a vertical piano
if they want something sounding decent in the low range. I almost
bought something from Rick Jones (you can delete this) piano but their
selection and price was not as great as Piano Outlet. I almost bought
something locally at a Steinway dealership but they were trying to get
rid of an old 1974 Yamaha C-3. The price was about 40% more with our 9%
sales tax plus the piano was much older than the 1986 C-3 that I was
considering at first; but was later convinced by Russell to get the C-5
for a few dollars more. I originally found Piano Outlet from a search
on Ebay for a player system. I also was considering getting a QRS
instead of the Pianodisc but Russell took the time to convince me by
taking pictures and explaining the difference in the quality of the 2
systems. The Pianodisc IQ came with a bunch of music plus I get to
select 5 CDs from the book that came with the piano.
I have only had a few chances to play with the piano as the holiday
schedule has kept us busy. If anyone needs some questions please don't
hesitate to direct them to email me at tuanhai.hoang@qualitelcorp.com as
I would love to help you sale more pianos! Hai

CommentsHello Russell,
Go ahead and add us to the long list of satisfied customers. I was very excited to see how flawless our 42 year old Yamaha Baby Grand looked. Next I was relieved to play it and learn that it sounded full and bright and the action was solid and consistent. My son and daughter were really surprised when it was unwrapped - at first they thought it was our old upright returning from the shop. In the short time Don was at our home, I could tell he was a great guy. He and Muff did performed a very professional offload and install for us. My brother purchased a new Yamaha upright 5 years ago after much research. He thought I was crazy to purchase a used piano online sight unseen. I told him after just speaking with you a couple of times, I could sense your vast knowledge of pianos and your solid character. It is so refreshing to be able to trust someone in a business transaction these days. We wish you continued success in your piano business.
Could you please send me some info on how to care for the exterior finish? If you have any additional info about the history of the piano, we would find it very interesting.
Thanks again,
Roy and family

I wanted to thank you again for the professional service and all the time you spent educating my father and me on the piano buying process when we were shopping for my mother's piano. I recommend to anyone interested in a piano that they make it a priority to visit your showroom. The selection is beyond compare and your knowledge of the industry is second to none. Most importantly, you are honest and trustworthy, characteristics difficult to find when making an expensive purchase like a piano.
Thanks again,

Just a thank you note from another happy client.
As you may recall, I was very reluctant to buy the Kawai 6’8’’grand piano without trying it.
After our phone call you gave me your word that the piano was an excellent one, and I relied on that.
The piano arrived today 11/7 and as described and promised it is in excellent condition, has a beautiful sound and looks great.
Thank you for a smooth and fast transaction.
I would recommend Piano Outlet to anyone who wants to buy a piano online.

CommentsHi Russell,
Just a note to tell you that we FINALLY received our UX3 this morning and are very happy with our purchase. We had a technician in to install the Dampp-Chaser and to tune it. We’ve had a couple of people, including the tuner before he saw the piano, wrinkle their noses at the thought of buying a piano from 1500 miles away. However after seeing and tuning it, he concluded that we had received a FANTASTIC piano.
Thanks,

CommentsLooking for a Yamaha grand with combined affordability and quality proved to be a frustrating task—even the in the New York City area—until I found the Piano Outlet on line. After spotting some interesting candidates on Russell’s web site, my wife and I prepped our 2 year-old daughter for her first airplane flight, and bulleted down to Ft. Lauderdale for a weekend of fun in the sun and a visit to Russell’s show room.
Russell was extremely patient allowing me to play his instruments for almost 3 hours until I found the piano of my dreams among his enormous inventory. After settling on a beautiful C3 that could have passed for brand new, Russell went the extra mile to make sure my instrument arrived home in New York safe and sound.
Buying a grand piano is often a once in a lifetime event. A trip to the Piano Outlet pays for itself in both the savings that come with buying a used instrument, Russell’s personal service, and the satisfaction of knowing what you’re buying. Besides, who doesn’t like a trip to the beach?

CommentsTo anyone considering purchasing a piano from Piano Outlet, I'd like to offer
my own experience to help with your decision. In short, I was very pleased
with my purchase experience, and I now have a beautiful piano that is exactly
what I wanted.
I was extremely nervous about the transaction, having been one of the many
victims of another online piano seller who was quietly in the process of going
out of business, while continuing to take thousands of dollars from many
people who were never provided pianos. After that experience, I don't believe
I would have been willing to try again to purchase a piano "remotely' had it
not been for the glowing recommendation of a friend and colleague of a former
teacher of mine, who works with Piano Outlet on a regular basis and has the
utmost confidence in them.
I can say with no hesitation that Piano Outlet and its owner, Russell Housen,
was very helpful, completely above-board and honest, and delivered a
spectacular piano at a very good price within a few short weeks. Great service
and follow-up. Five stars!

CommentsJust a note to let you know that I am very happy with the piano I bought from The Piano Outlet. I was a little worried buying a piano I've never seen or played but after talking with the salesman in detail and him giving me all the facts I was hoping for the best and got it. Sounds great and looks great and being a Yamaha I wasn't too worried about it not being a good piano. I kind of wished I had you install the player piano for me but I can live without it since I'm the player. I plan on putting a video on youtube soon usung that piano. I'm glad I have a concert grand to practice on now which has a totally different sound and way to play than my Yamaha baby grand and that one is a recorder using piano disc system but is not a player. I do have a video on youtube
www.youtube.com/geresti for you to see what kind of pianist I am and you canb check out my recordings on www.gerestimusic.com or go to www.cdbaby.com/all/gerestimusic to hear samples of my works from 27 albums with a new Patriotic album on the way.

CommentsI am a professional piano teacher in the Orlando area, and the quality of my piano is extremely important to me. I searched for about 3 months for the right piano, a search that took me from Jacksonville, to Tampa, and to the south Florida area where I ended up buying from Piano Outlet. The piano I decided on was a 1986 Yamaha C3 that was better than any C3 I've ever played. It was in pristine mint condition and cosmetically you could not tell in was 20 years old. Better yet, it was perfectly seasoned and broken in. The sound was bright and full, and you don't get that with a brand new piano. Russell is a very nice guy and will not stoop to car salesmen tactics to get a sale. He doesn't have to. His pianos are already the most reasonable in the area and I think people already know this when they visit his store. I can't recommend his store enough for your piano needs.

CommentsDear Mr. Housen,
Thank you for your recent email. In July of 2007, I located on the internet the ad for the piano of my dreams. Since it was located in Florida and I live in Florida, I would just hop in the car and go check out this gorgeous walnut baby grand. Several hours later I arrived in Pompano! It was well worth the drive from Winter Haven and I've never been sorry for a moment for that decision. The K. Kawaii was delivered and set up with utmost professionalism, care, and skill and it has become one of my most cherished
possessions. I never grow tired of sitting at the keyboard and nourishing my spirit with the rich tones of that instrument.
You also arranged at my request to have my long-loved Kimball console to be delivered to my musical grandson in Nashville. That has also proved to be a great blessing.
Thank you for your great piano business. We are fortunate to have found you! Best wishes for your continued success.

CommentsHi Russell,
It has been 10 months since we bought our 6'1" Yamaha Grand from you. If you'll remember, I must have played a dozen or more at your showroom, but I kept coming back to the one I played first upon entering your store. We are extremely happy with it in our house. Its beauty, touch and mellow tone bring much enjoyment. Your courteous service from our first greeting to the delivery, perfect set up and respectful follow-up attest to your business acumen and reputation as an expert salesman. Thank you; we couldn't be happier with any investment of this magnitude.

CommentsDear Mr. Housen:
On behalf of our Church, Saint Joan of Arc in Boca Raton Florida, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and quality service.
As Music director at this Church, I was glad to purchase our C5 Yamaha Conservatory piano from your company. I was really pleased to be able to choose our piano among the many in display you had at your showroom. It is really unusual to be able to try at least 8 pianos before I could decide on which one to select. All pianos were ready to be played at the time we were at your showroom.
Your follow up and your technicians were great too.
Thanks, we hope to be able to do more business in the future with your company

CommentsSometimes letters of testimony sound like they were authored by the business owner. I can assure you this is not the case. I looked 10 years for a Kawai piano and bothered Russell of The Piano Outlet all along the way. I’m positive he was relieved when I finally bought and It will be almost 2 years since my wife, Sandi and I welcomed the beautiful instrument into our home. Oh, there were a few issues, but understandable. And there were times when I wished for a guitar instead, but we lived to enjoy the many good times. Russell is the consummate businessman … reputable all the way, and his integrity is always preceded by his knowledge, charm and salesmanship. Basically, The Piano Outlet is a class act and if you’re in the market to buy a fine, pre-owned instrument … a beautiful piece of furniture, please consider buying from Russell Housen, the classiest guy in the piano biz!

I was a little nevous about purchasing an instrument I had not personally played, but Mr. Housen was very honest, professional, helpful, and even sent additional photos. His descriptions of the instrument were very accurate, and it arrived at my door in pristine condition. us to enjoy it today. The piano is wonderful! It looks like it's
straight out of the show room,..and it sounds incredible. The movers
were great. It's even in great tune which I found amazing, it didn't
need any tweaking.
Thank you to everyone involved for this gorgeous instrument which
arrived on time, in perfect condition, to celebrate the return to our
newly renovated church, it made the occasion very special.

Our beautiful walnut baby grand arrived safe and sound today, thanks to the excellent work of Don and his assistant. They truly are experts in their field! Their care, professionalism, and friendliness is indicative of why Don has your confidence in this important job.
My husband thinks the piano is beautiful--both in appearance and in tone quality, and so does my good friend and pianist Barbara. I look forward to being able to share it with our children and with many others in the months and years ahead.

CommentsRussel,
I would like to thank you for working extra hard for me in the delivery process of my C-5 Yamaha Grand. Although we did run into a bit of confusion in getting the piano to Calgary, Alberta Canada you never stopped talking to me and e-mailing me to let me know that status of the move. I am ecstatic about my piano that arrived in like NEW condition. It has changed my life already as it has inspired me to take lessons again, not to mention the hours of practice my 4 girls have put in on it already. What an amazing instrument. A gift from God!!
Sincerely,

CommentsFor many, many months I searched nationwide for the piano that "would talk back to me." I vigorously tracked pianos nationwide on every board and list I could find, and visited various individual sellers as well as local piano dealers. Being analytical, I built an extensive Excel spreadsheet and tracked the selling prices of various piano brands and models over a long period of time. Nothing I came across had the sound I wanted at the price I was willing to pay.
As I watched pianos come and go, I came across Russell Housen's Piano Outlet in Margate, FL and I gave him a call. Russell had a unique piano that was intriguing. After a lengthy telephone conversation with Russell, he invited me to visit his store and review several options. Russell's expertise convinced me it would be worth the risk to fly cross country to evaluate his offerings. My piano purchase was something I wanted to do one time in my life and be done with it. No future upgrades, no trading, no second guessing--I wanted the piano to be "perfect."
I took the risk and flew from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale to visit Piano Outlet. Russell was most accommodating and had the patience to work through several pianos on his showroom floor. While all the pianos were nice, there was one that stood above the rest and, ultimately, that is the piano that sits in my home today.
Not only was Russell helpful in the purchase, his follow-up in preparing and shipping the piano was first class. Russell was always available to answer questions and provide post-sales support. My expectations were exceeded when my piano arrived and I could see the effort Russell's technician put into the finishing touches.
I would recommend Russell to anyone contemplating the purchase of a piano regardless of your location. Happy piano hunting!

CommentsThanks to the internet, I had the opportunity to find my perfect piano. I had been looking in piano stores for a while and couldn’t find what I needed based upon my budget. Then I found Piano Outlet. They offered an unbelievable selection of Yamaha and Kawai pianos that not only fit my style but my budget as well. Being a VERY discerning buyer especially over the internet, I was invited to their store in Florida to inspect their line of pianos. There I met Russell and his world class piano technician Sal. After selecting my piano, Sal made special adjustments to the instrument which made the piano unique to me. It’s no longer just an instrument, it’s an expression of me, and something I will treasure for a lifetime here in my recording studio. It is completely perfect, and I know of no other who can perform this magic on an instrument. If you have the chance to work with these two gentlemen, do so. The customer service was second to none, and I was kept well informed on the delivery of my piano to Texas. These guys take care of every detail and I can’t recommend them more highly. I declare myself completely approachable.

CommentsHi Russell,
I love my new piano. I am piano teacher and this is my fourth piano. This one is for our vacation home in Florida. It took me a year to decide that your pianos were the best in quality and price. But after I shopped around, I came back and knew that I could trust you to help me select the best one for my purpose. Although I haven’t been able to play it as much as I had hoped, yet, I look forward to many years of enjoyment. Thank you for providing outstanding service.

Mr. Russell Housen c/o Piano Outlet September 27, 2006 Re: My piano Dear Russell: It was good talking with you today. As I told you, I came across your yellow page advertisement under the "piano" section as I was looking up the "pool" section (which turned out to be under "swimming"). Anyway, when I saw your name I said to myself "Self, you must call Russell to tell him his piano is still working." Five years ago or so I purchased my Yamaha C7 from you. I had had a C3 which one or two people in my piano group said was not a particularly good piano. My sister from Connecticut, who owns a Steinway B as well as a Yamaha C7 (she needed two because her son used to play too), also did not like my original piano. So I took the gamble that getting another piano would somehow make me a better player and that I would notice the difference. From day #1 that I owned the C7 I have been a very happy camper. The extra foot and a half as well as the better sound the piano produced was a welcomed treat in my household. Ever since that day I have found it hard to walk by my piano without it calling to me to play it. It has taken on a life of its own. I have had some very fine pianists play on it and everyone has loved it. Although I cannot really be sure it has made me a better pianist, I have the distinct feeling that it has if for nothing more than the way it beckons me. I like knowing there is nothing larger than it save for a concert grand. It stays well in tune and maintains its lustrous appearance. For some strange reason, it doesn't even seem to get dusty ! Although my sister is partial to her Steinway, she can't get over how much better my C7 is than hers. I guess all pianos are different. I just wanted to let you know, five years later, how much I am still pleased to have bought my piano from you. I am happy to hear how well you are doing in becoming a national distributor. As my son has recently moved into the Weston area to begin his own medical career, I hope to stop in to your store some day in the near future to say hello. Sincerely yours, Louis E. Mark, M.D.

When my husband told me about your advertisement, I thought he was kidding me about the price, etc. Then when he purchased it without even seeing it in person, I really went beserk. It took a few weeks to arrive but the delivery went very well and I could not be more pleased. Every day I spend time at the piano practicing which I have not done in years. Dear Russell, Just wanted to send you a quick note about how we are loving the Yamaha C3 we bought from you in August 2005. This piano has changed our "family evening time"! Now we all gather in the living room and listen while Ariel, age 11, and David, age 9, take turns practicing piano. (I have to tell you we never sat in the living room prior to this piano.) Even our two wheaton terriers enjoy it, they lie under the piano while the kids are playing. Thank you for helping us find a terrific piano, which has created wonderful music in our house! I now have what I consider the finest instrument available for under 50,000.00 in my living room. Piano Outlet had the only Yamaha S4 (other than brand new) around. What an instrument! If you havn't played one try to find one and play it. Make sure it is in tune. You wont believe the tone, texture, detail and dynamic range from the S4. It can bellow with the best of them but more impressive is it's astonishing ability to whisper the way it does. The people at Piano Outlet were able to make the S4 happen for us...we are delighted

I stumbled onto the Piano Outlet while vacationing in Florida last year. Even more unexpectedly, I found a "like new" Baldwin L among all the Yamahas and Kawais. I never would have dreamed of buying a piano out-of-state, but the instrument and the deal were too good to pass up. The entire buying experience turned out to be a pleasure, and the professional movers delivered it in perfect condition. It's now a year later, the piano is still great, and every time I play it I think how fortunate I was that day. Thanks Russell!

They knew exactly what they were doing, which was very helpful when moving the piano down the staircase. The piano is beautiful. It is exactly as you had described it on your web page. This piano is a wonderful addition to my piano studio. I will highly recommend your store to others looking for a quality instrument at a great price! Thank you very much, LeAnn Halvorson

In March 2004, I purchased a Yamaha C-3 from Piano Outlet that was purported to be in "mint" condition. It was. The finish was spectacular, the shipping professional, and the inner workings perfect. I was leery about buying a piano on Russell's word from a store 2500 miles from Las Vegas, but I quizzed Russell endlessly until I became comfortable with the transaction. Now, almost a year later, I'm grateful Russell had the time to field my questions. My experience with Piano Outlet was a pleasant one that I would easily repeat should I need a second piano that lives up to its advertising. Greg Walch Las Vegas, Nevada

We are thrilled with the piano! It is everything we were looking for (and we were looking for well over a year!). We have wanted a Kawai for a very long time, and it was well worth the wait. Thank you for your great service. Michael Wagner Coto De Caza, California

"I had been looking for the right grand piano for several years, but until I found the Piano Outlet I was still only looking. Russell quickly put me at ease with the idea of buying a piano from him -- his knowledge, his experience, and his genuine love for pianos won me over. Buying an antique grand is such a personal decision, as no two pianos are alike to begin with, then add in the history of rebuilding and refinishing ... but in the end I was convinced because Russell was convinced of the quality of this grand piano. "Once in my condo, hearing the grand piano played by the player system (incidentally, which Russell had installed for me) really floored me. The tones are extraordinarily clear and crisp with a true classical sound to it, but without the muddiness in the bass that can often happen for pianos that are considered "warm" or "rich" in tone. It seems to have the perfect balance between the pure tones and classical sound when put into my acoustically bright environment. Bravo! I could never have afforded a new grand piano with power and tone like this! "The delivery was a challenge too -- no freight elevator in my building, so we had to use the regular elevator -- but Russell's choice for a delivery company really showed their experience. The piano was specially mounted to a rigid board so that it could be turned up on end. It fit snugly but easily into the elevator, and the team was easily able to then move the piano up the stairs in my condo. The piano was unwrapped without a scratch, and they moved the piano around until it was just right, without any complaint. These guys know what they're doing, and were very personable and professional throughout the delivery. Thanks, Ben Petree

I found Russell to be extremely helpful and willing to explain not only the features of various pianos, but also the why's behind the cost of one piano versus another. All business was done over the phone, and my purchase was "sight unseen". As promised, the piano was delivered on time and completely met my expectations that it was "like new". Wayne Galloway

I recently bought a Yamaha C-7 from Russell at Piano Outlet. This was a Christmas present for my wife and I was hesitant to buy a piano "sight unseen". I researched the net exhaustively, shopped locally, did as much research as possible and finally decided to purchase from Russell. My wife and I could not be more pleased. The piano is beautiful. It is in mint condition, everything that Russell claimed it would be. Russell went out of his way to help me keep this a secret from my wife. The piano arrived exactly when he said it would. The movers are true professionals with years of experience moving pianos and were very pleasant and very competent. Overall, the experience was much better than I expected and I would give Piano outlet my highest recommendation. If you would like to discuss with me, my email address is dgowder@alltel.net. I just had to let you know how much I love my "new" piano! The Yamaha C-7 (which I first spotted on E-Bay) is wonderful. The touch, the sound and the gorgeous cabinetry just bring tears to my eyes and the whole experience of being able to get this piano has been terrific. I really find it hard to believe this is not a brand new piano! You were very easy to work with and I'd do it again and I will definitely recommend you. This is the most awesome gift I've ever had and, if the whole household wouldn't be yelling, I'd be playing at 3:00 am! I must also complement the gentlemen who delivered and set up the piano. They gave service that is really special in this day and age. It was amazing to watch them manuver the "beast" (all 800 pounds of it) up the stairs and into place. We'll look for you at the Abacoa Classic Car Cruise some Saturday and you can see Don's new toy......the '57 Chevy Belair. He goes on about cars the way I go on about this piano! Anyway......enough gushing! I'm happy! Thanks again. Merry Christmas! Janice Whitacre

Hi Russell, Dan delivered the piano today and all is good. He turned out to be great. Very helpful and nice. As for the piano, It was too cold from the truck to really play much, but my initial "meeting" with the instrument confirms that it is everything you said and more! I am thrilled with this piano. I am thrilled with my experience dealing with you. Your advice and recommendations throughout this whole process have all been reliable, honest and first class, and I would recommend you to anyone! Actually, it is fucking beautiful, the action and sound seems tremendous! When I get back to the house, and after it warms up a bit, I will play the hell out of it some more - but my first impression is of absolute satisfaction. I think I just may have found the nicest C7 available, and for the best price to boot! You are a rock star!

My name is Scott Anderson. I run a professional recording studio in Seattle Washington that has been in business for over 10 years. I would have never believed anyone if they told me I would buy a Yamaha Grand C7 piano over the internet without ever hearing it. Or that I would trust the person on the other side. But Russell continually impressed me with his knowledge of the instrument and the history of his inventory. The biggest reason I bought the piano from Russell was the care that they take in putting the aftermarket MIDI send and receive units on the piano. When you make this kind of an investment you don't want someone accidentally cutting into the sound board or making bad cuts. When the piano arrived, Russell himself (by phone) helped me through the installation into the studio. The tone of the piano was exactly as he had described and now he made me a proud owner of one of the best made pianos in the world. I would be happy to communicate with anyone that is considering buying from Russell at the Piano Outlet. I highly recommended them. You can put your worries aside. Hi Russell, I had my Yamaha C1 tuned up and checked out yesterday. My tech said the piano plays and looks like new just as you said it would. I purchased this piano sight unseen and I have to tell you I was more than a bit nervous. But now that the piano has arrived and has been checked out I couldn't be happier. It's a beautiful instrument that my family and I absolutely love playing. I had looked at the same piano at our local dealer that was a scratched up mess and priced at thousands more. On top of that, they were going to charge me sales tax and shipping. It has certainly been a pleasure doing business with you and I would recommend you to anyone looking for a great piano at a great price. I just received the new bench from you via FedEX yesterday and it looks great with it. Thanks again, Gary Uliasz Southwick, Massachusetts gfuliasz@comcast.net

Russell, the Yamaha C-7 arrived last week after riding across the country
in Shaffer Brother"s delivery truck. It was totally wrapped up with
thick quilts and secured firmly which put my mind at ease. The driver was
very professional and set the piano up just where I wanted it. I could
not find a scratch or dent anywhere. The piano is eleven years old and
sitting next to a brand new one, you could not tell one from the other.
As you know I was forced to buy "sight unseen" because when I flew to
Florida to see your pianos, all the C-7's were sold. I had to leave it up
to you to get and deliver what I was looking for. You did great! I am so
proud of my new possession. I can't see any evidence of it ever being
used. It's beautiful!!
Russ, if you want to show this e-mail to your customers, you have my
permission. As you know, I am a piano tuner in the Lapeer, Michigan area
for 40 years now. I've been wanting to own a new concert grand for years
but never had the money as I'm self employed and raising my second
family. I finally decided I had better do it as I now am playing local
concerts and want something better than the old upright for practice and
enjoyment in my own home. I spent months of study and comparison to find
the highest quality for the lowest cost. I already knew of the high
quality of the Yamaha pianos after tuning them and just about every other
make. When I learned of your connections with these like new Yamaha's
from Japan, I made my final decision.
Thank You,
Steve Farley

Russell: How can we ever thank you for the "dream come true"? To watch my son play on the Kawai grand is awesome. You have been patient, honest, and truly kind. You answer phone messages and emails immediately. The installation of the QRS player system is flawless, but I love to hear my son play even better! You are not only a fine business man, you are a musician with a love for "your pianos." I truly believe you want to find them all good homes. To top it all off, the Kawai is in totally "new" condition with a sound quality unmatched.
Thank you.

I had ordered a Yamaha C1 from you and it arrived about two weeks ago. Although the piano looked great, I was a bit skeptical until a registered piano tuner tuned it yesterday. He reported the piano was like new and in great shape. He checked the registration number and found out everything you said about it was accurate. Thank you, Russ. Never having made a big purchase unseen from someone I have not met, I feel lucky to have dealt with an honest and reputable person. Thanks, again
Sincerely,

Russell - Thank you for all of the time you spent with us during this purchase. I never envisioned myself buying a grand piano 'sight unseen', and you resolved all of my concerns and made the transaction as easy as possible. The piano is beautiful, and even our VERY particular piano technician commented while tuning it that its condition was "as good or better than a 2005 piano from [our local Yamaha dealership]". We are thrilled, especially my wife who has been waiting all her life for a Yamaha grand piano. Thanks again, --Dave

Dear Russell,I just wanted to pass along to your future customers the excellent service you provided with our piano purchase. From our first phone call to our last (probably 20 in all) you handled the deal outstanding. You have shown me that companies still exist that realize the importance of customer service. The 10-15 high quality photos you sent after our first contact showed how committed you were in providing an accurate description of the piano I now own. Every time I called you were friendly, honest and forthright, if I needed to leave a message, it was always returned by days end! The crew that delivered the piano were also professional and careful. Thanks so much for the great service, great piano and great deal. Feel free to post this on your website, thanks again, Barry Davis

I was initially hesitant to purchase a piano "sight unseen" from over 800 miles away. However, after talking with Russell and understanding how he has cultivated this particular business model and garnered this market segment over many years, I felt confident in the transaction. All went smoothly, and my beautiful Yamaha C3 was delivered hassle-free.

I had the good fortune to be able to visit Russell at his piano warehouse in South Florida. After having been to several piano showrooms (mostly of the kind in which salesman push new pianos) over the previous couple of weeks, it was a pleasant surprise to discover a store in which the owner takes such obvious pride. I had phoned Russell earlier, and he had carefully described a piano that he thought might be suited to my needs. Now, I've been playing piano off and on since I was six, and my kids have all learned (on a Clavinova), so I know enough about pianos to be dangerous. Russell's description hit all the important points without unnecessary fluff, but my previous experiences left me skeptical. I need not have worried, the piano was precisely as Russell had described. I am happy to say that the piano was delivered on time, exactly as promised. So I can report from personal experience that Russell knows pianos, means what he says, ... and plays a mean Gershwin! |
