Piano Outlet does it again another "needle in the haystack". This time a 52" upright with all the "bells and whistles". Recently out of a private residence where it was rarely played this piano is the finest 52" Kawai makes. The current model K8 is virtually identical in design. Mechanics are the same.
  

This instrument was ordered new from the factory with Kawai's "Any Time" mute and practice system. The control panel is exposed once you open the fallboard. Move the switch under the piano and it is silenced. You can now plug in headphones and hear yourself play on a 9' Concert Grand. Turn on the built in metronome for private practice sessions. Connect a midi cord and play and external sound module, keyboard or record into your laptop. Electronics also feature onboard record system which plays the piano back through the onboard sound module. This sound module also features 3 different reverb settings with 3 different sounds. With the flip of a switch you can go from 9' concert grand to harpsichord or vibraphone. The sound is awesome when combined with the piano itself. Please understand this piano is NOT a player piano so when it plays back the keys will not move. Connect the piano to an external speaker and hear the 9' concert grand studio mixed sound together when the silencing system is released. 

Condition of this piano is as new, very little wear on the hammers, the action is nice and tight without any loss of motion commonly found on high mileage instruments. The cabinetry is the best as far as studio uprights go. Features include a full music stand instead of the usual "shelf"  that doesn't support books or score sheets. Behind the removable music stand are sound vents that allow the sound of the piano to pass through the front instead of being projected to the wall the piano is up against ( an unfortunate design flaw of the typical upright piano). These sound vents are again repeated under the keyboard above the kick panel, so the piano itself has a very live sound.
